Before you started shopping for your dress, did you have an idea of the type or style of gown you wanted?
Yes I had a rough idea - nothing puffy like a ball gown! It was also important for me to feel comfortable wearing it all day and to be able to eat!

How long did you spend shopping for your wedding dress? How many months out from your wedding date when you "said yes to the dress"?
I started in September - with around a year to go and said yes to the dress at the end of November.
Did you have an idea of the wedding dress designer / label you wanted?
I had no idea about which designer I wanted - I just picked styles I liked.
How did you find out about your boutique?
It’s my home town so driving past and seeing the window displays and also recommendation from my sister who knew about your relatively new boutique.
It also seemed to offer something a little different from the usual boutiques- more unique dresses and a personal experience. Lots of friends were also getting married so I didn’t want anything too similar to them!
What made you decide to go with the boutique you did?
A really personal appointment and beautiful selection of dresses. Sophie and her mum also really care about each customer
How did your boutique make you feel special?
Took an interest in our plans, the pre questionnaire, little sign and lovely drink on arrival.
No pressure to purchase and didn’t feel rushed. Also made to feel really comfortable when trying them on.
What were your favourite parts of the wedding dress shopping experience?
I enjoyed the whole experience
Was the experience of shopping for your wedding dress as you expected, or was it something totally different?
It was better than expected!
How many other shops did you visit?
1
Can you tell us about any negative experiences you had or why you were put off buying your dress from another boutique
Not very personable. The dresses were also all teeny - some wouldn’t do up so it was impossible to see how they looked. Made to try on something I really didn’t like just to rule it out and the person before was late so my appointment was rushed and cut short. I selected dresses I liked before I went but this hadn’t been looked it and before I know it I was booked in for a second appointment which I later cancelled.
What is your advice to other brides who are about to start dress shopping?
Don’t lose sight of what you said you did and didn’t want in a dress (if you knew) and trust your instinct
Any additional advice about planning / wedding day?
It will all come together - try not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy the planning experience as your planning a lovely happy day - not a stressful thing!
